today i went for a haircut + colouring at x'pect studio, done by the all famous Srico
here's how it went, for those who're interested in cutting your hair there. at first he's nice enough to assess my hair and what kinda hairstyle i'm looking for. i know most stylist will do that, but i've met some who don't! then he gave me the option of "Maintenance" type of hairstyle, or a "Drastic" type. i so wanted to say drastic, lol, but i just let him choose whichever fits my face best. Then he suggested a more maintenance type since this is my first time there, and he doesn't wanna try anything too fanciful, yet. OK, sounds reasonable, and after a quick wash he starts snipping away. I dunno if it's Srico himself, or it's a weekday and i'm the only customer around, he did his job nice and patiently, which i really have to commend because the last time i did my hair at K*mage (LOL for the censor), the stylist was quick to cut and was kinda like in a rush, which didn't give me a good impression.
then inches by inches he started cutting my hair away... until i realised my long hair which i was so reluctant to cut and had waited around 1/2 year to get to the current length was actually missing the fringes.. my sides were cut to nearly a slope! he still dared to joke "this should be the shortest you've cut since NS right? haha" goodness.. if not because he's so renown i'd have walked out already! then, another wash, and he asked an assistant to bleach my hair.
i was then led to a machine with a sort of ring, which is folded when unused. think of it as a thin but big donut folded in half. when activated, the "wings" will unfold and heat will start to dissipate from the ring, kinda like a mind-reading/brain-washing device, lol! have you wondered why and where they clear away all your cut hair? probably to clone another you! and the ring machine is actually some device that extracts your intelligence, personality and memories and implant them into your clone!
then, another wash.. i think my hair was washed at least 5 times during my 3 hours stay.. my bleached hair actually made me look super punk! then srico and his assistant started to apply the main colour. it made me feel like some sort of VIP or celebrity with two stylists working on my hair at the same time, LOL! however, the smell of ammonia was kinda lethal.. it's like, all the ammonia through my years in the chem lab presented to me in 5 mins!
another, final wash, and srico started styling up my hair. seriously, i could NOT see what colour my hair was dyed to.. even so until this entry was posted.. he sez it'll appear after a few washes, so fine, i'll listen to him. good thing is he explained all the details needed to style my hair, which i wasn't paying a lot of attention to, and also how i should blow-dry my hair so moisture won't be trapped inside and cause my hair to curl or be wavy.
overall, i find the experience rather pleasant. but my hair is seriously super short now! it made me feel super Sunshine, lol! i could just add a earring to my left ear that kinda hairstyle.. not that i'm disappointed la, it's more like a shocked feeling, LOL! i'll see after a week or so when my hair starts to regrow. my hopes are on you now, srico-san!
